Hair Obsession

I have become a bit hair obsessed... I love to read the "hair blogs" that I have come across and try out some of the do's on Ava and Chloe. Their hair is still very fine and thin, so I can't try everything, but here are a few of our latest...

The Glorious "Three's"

I can't believe that my girls are 3 years old and 5 months! It seems like it was just their birthday. I have just been thinking a lot about how much older and more mature they seem lately and thought I'd share some of the comedy in our lives.

Last week I picked the girls up from preschool and Chloe was crying. Upon inquiring of the problem, I learned that Chloe had asked a little boy to have a wedding with her and he told her no. She was less then impressed. I told my sister to ask Chloe about it later.
Auntie - "Why were you sad today?"
Chloe - "Because Owen was mad at me."
Auntie - "Why was he mad at you."
Chloe - "I wanted him to be my wedding boy and he said no!"
Ava - "How sad for Owen."

On Sunday we stopped at Starbucks for John to get a coffee. When he got back in the car Ava asked him what kind of coffee he got. He said "an Americano." Ava sat back and said "Whatever." Seems to be a word of the week, interjected whenever possible.

Chloe wouldn't get ready to go to gymnastics on Friday morning, so to hurry her up I told her I was leaving and would have to call a babysitter to stay with her if she wasn't going to get moving. Eventually she did get ready, but was once again slow-poking around on Saturdy and I hear Ava say "you better hurry up or we're gonna have to get a babysitter for you." Such a mini-me...

I am constantly left speechless or laughing by the things they say. I wish I had time to write it all down, but then I'd never get anything else done! Ava is especially filled with sass these days and Chloe is more in need of hugs and kisses for her many dramatic episodes each day. Luckily there is good balance of emotions between them.

Dancing Queens

We picked these dancing ribbons up a while back and the girls recently put on a little dancing show with them! It was hard to take photos, because they are obsessed with watching themselves in the t.v. and fireplace! Vanity at its finest.

They only hear part of what we say...

Scene: Two kids in the bath, daddy supervising and getting them clean.

Daddy: Okay, let's wash your hair. I am going to put some shampoo in it.

Chloe: I don't want POO in my hair!

Beautiful

Ava and Chloe both wanted to be Angelina Ballerina for Halloween. I took them to the craft store and they each picked out the tulle that they wanted me to use to make their tutus. Then I made the mouse ears and tails and they were set! We also picked out bags and ballerina stickers that the girls used to decorate for their trick-or-treat bags. They have loved Angelina ever since we came across the books at the library. As soon as they were dressed, they were busy twirling and dancing around the living room. It was very sweet!

Back on the Blog

Well, I can't see myself catching up for the last 2 months that I have missed on here, but hopefully I'll stay updated now. The last couple months have been consumed with house shopping, buying, packing, painting, moving, unpacking, landscaping, decorating, fall fun, my new neice being born and of course keeping up with Ava and Chloe! I'd say we are settled now and I'm getting some extra computer time since the girls are laid up with some nasty bug! We love our new house (we moved from 1200 sq.ft. to 2100sq.ft.). We have much more room now and a playroom - yay! Ava and Chloe are in gymnastics and ballet/tap class and preschool so we are on the go! Here are a few of my favorite recent photos...

Mini Gymnasts

Last Friday Ava and Chloe had their first gymnastics class. They were beyond excited. They have been watching a gymnastics competition that I recorded and trying to copy the elite gymnasts. It is very cute and funny! I'm pretty sure that they thought they'd automatically be able to do the amazing flips when they were at class. They definately did impress me. They didn't even hesitate to follow the teacher, they listened to all her directions and looked adorable in their shiny leotards!
